As birth control is made readily accessible, to women in third world countries, there will be a continued decline in population.
Beyond the economic implications, two parents do not have the emotional reserves to parent large broods of children effectively. The days of the extended family when there were family members available to assist with child rearing are over; grandparents are working to supplement retirement/social security, there is no time for children.

Good post. In the U.S., 35 states have reach the point of negative fertility (more people dying than being born). The African-American replacement birth rate is shockingly low due to abortion. Caucasians are now dying faster than being born. The implications are grave.

I believe the esteemed Mr. Geithner spent some time at the IMF. As I recall, he neglected to pay FICA taxes on that earned income.
